
Kelly Clarkson, in full Kelly Brianne Clarkson, (born on April 24, 1982 in Fort Worth, Texas, U.S.), American performer, songwriter as well as a TV personality, who was able to establish herself as a pop-rock superstar after her win in the TV talent competition American Idol during 2002. Clarkson lived at Burleson, Texas, a suburb in Fort Worth, where her vocal prowess was first recognized by her teacher in the choir at her school at the age of a seventh-grade student. Following graduation, Clarkson made the move in Los Angeles, where she failed to make it into the show business. When she returned in Texas in 2002, she took part in the American Idol, a show broadcast by the Fox Broadcasting Co. American Idol. This singing contest allowed the audience to select their favourite performer. Clarkson's charismatic voice, personality and humour were immediately adored by viewers. Clarkson was awarded $1 million and a contract recording for RCA for her winnings.
